Dear Firefighters,
Just as all New Yorkers and fellow Americans feel the deep desire to heal the sorrows brought upon New York City on September 11th, I’ve wanted to share my deepest thanks and respect to the loved ones that have been lost, and keep alive their spirit and sacrifice. As an artist in Tucson, Arizona, I constantly make things that people keep in their homes for symbolic reasons close to their hearts. On the morning of September 12th, I woke from a dream where I had created Guardian Angels in remembrance of the firefighters lost in this tragedy.
Mandala Recycled Art owes its’ creation to my own experiences as a firefighter. It was my old Fire Department in Tucson that actually “sparked” my interest in art – this is where I learned the skills of operating the oxy-acetylene torch that now guides my love of creating with fire.
In my business, the metal I create from is recycled, the flame I use is sharp and hot. It is this flame and the once discarded steel combined that form a renewed symbolic beauty and illuminate the energetic life they contain. I hope that these Guardian Angel Lights will remind you that your lost companions are still here with us, illuminating in our souls and watching out for our well-being.
Thank you for your dedicated love and caring.
Forever in my thoughts,
Jennifer Utsch
